Customs information

When shipping, please observe the individual import and customs regulations of the exporting country as well as the country of destination. When transporting goods to countries subject to customs duties, the required shipping documentation is particularly important in order to avoid delays during transport. We take care of all the necessary measures to ensure that your shipment runs smoothly. In the event that special documents are required from the consignee for the import, we will contact you in good time

Duty-free shipping

For worldwide document shipments up to 2.0 kg, you generally do not need any customs documents. Please note that only printed loose paper pages count as documents. Bound pages, document folders, photos, data carriers, magazines or other formats are treated differently for customs purposes.

In principle, the movement of goods within the European Union is not subject to any restrictions. Nevertheless, European law provides for export control restrictions on certain goods in some sub-areas.

Shipment of goods with a value of up to 1,000 euros

For returns, gifts, promotional material, samples or other contents with a value of less than 1,000 euros that are not intended for sale, you need a Proforma Invoice.

Shipments of goods with contents that are intended for sale or resale and whose value does not exceed 999.99 euros require your EORI number as an accompanying document, as well as a commercial invoice.

Shipment of goods with a value of more than 1,000 euros

Every shipment of goods with a value of more than 1,000 euros (or weighing more than 1,000 kg) which is sent to a country subject to customs duty must be declared for export at the competent customs office.

Shipments from the same sender to the same recipient sent on the same day must be combined.

Within commercial transport, the export declaration can be made via the Internet export declaration (IAA-Plus) or a commercial customs agent can be commissioned to handle the entire process. Our team will be happy to inform you about the necessary steps for your export declaration.

Shipping medical samples

When transporting medical samples, attention must be paid to the correct packaging. Depending on whether the samples are more or less infectious, appropriate packaging and labelling regulations according to ADR and/or IATA must be observed. To select and order the correct packaging materials, please contact us.
